Recommendations for Numbering Options & Choices

Options and choices make DC products orderable and should be created carefully so that information captured from the buyer during the online order process is accurate.

Below you will find recommendations for numbering your options and choices inside of DistributorCentral. Through experience we've found that following these numbering conventions make maintaining option and choice data easier.

Options

Product Color Information Option (PCI)

Use the Product Color Information option type when you are creating an option that contains product colors. For example, a product color option would be used if you are selling a cup that comes in red, green, or blue.

Format:  Option Type Code - Product/Item #
Example: PCI-123

Decoration Information Option (DI)

Use the Decoration Information option type when you are creating an option for a decoration method that does not have ink colors.
