How to Move a Domain from a Legacy Website to a Responsive Website

The below steps will explain how you can move a domain that is pointed to a legacy website over to a responsive website:

  1. While logged into your DistributorCentral account, click on the “Websites” menu on the left-hand side
  2. In the submenu that appears below click on “Hosting Manager”
  3. When the Websites hosting manager page loads, find the website your domain is mapped to, and to the far right click the “Manage” button
  4. After clicking on the “Mange” button, you will be taken to the Legacy website manager, there click on the “Website Publisher” option
  5. In the website publisher, scroll down to the “Domain Name Mapping” section
  6. Find your domain with the checkbox to the left of it
  7. Un-check that box
  8. Click the “Save: Map Domain Names to this Website” button

Now that we have unmapped the domain from your legacy platform, we can map the domain to your new website:

  1. Click on the “Websites” menu on the left-hand side
  2. In the submenu that appears below click on “Hosting Manager”
  3. When the Websites hosting manager page loads, find the website you want to edit, and to the far right click the “Manage” button
  4. In your website manager, click the “Link Domain” link in the top right corner in the “Domains” box
  5. Enter in the domain host name (e.g. “www”, or leave blank if none is needed)
  6. Select your domain from the list to the right
  7. Setup the SEO redirect if you have more than one domain linked to this website
  8. Click “Add” to complete the domain mapping
